Paul F. O’Leary
Paul F. O’Leary, 87, passed peacefully at his home on Monday, January 27, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia “Ginny” M. O’ Leary with whom he shared 59 years of marriage until her passing on January 23, 2022.
Paul was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 9, 1937 and was the son of the late Francis O’Leary and Evelyn (Seeley) Vitty. He was a graduate of Boston College High School and continued his education at Boston College where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
For 28 years he worked as a chemist for Nashua Corp until his retirement in 1996.
In his free time, Paul enjoyed taking leisurely walks with his adored pet companion, Razzy. He also liked to watch sports, complete puzzles, and listen to Irish music. Paul enjoyed trips to the beach, his favorites were Minot Beach in Scituate, Massachusetts and Emerald Isle in North Carolina. He was a true handyman, from maintaining his home, fixing anything that needed maintenance including the family cars, he knew it all. Above all his most cherished time was spent with his family who he loved deeply.
Paul is survived by his five children, Sean O’Leary and his husband Walter Petruck of Haverhill, MA, Maura Colby of Nashua, Richard O’Leary of Keene, Dennis O’Leary and his wife Gina of Boston, and Rita Esquivel and her husband Gustavo of North Carolina; his 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Maryann Williamson of Medway, MA; his sister-in-law, Beverly White of Hanson, MA; friends, Patrick Gagnon of Nashua and Bob Smedilie of Haverhill, MA; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and his dearest fur companion, Razzy.
In addition to his wife, Ginny, and his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn O’Leary and his brother Richard O’Leary as well as brother-in-laws, Paul Williamson & Robert White.
Relatives and friends are invited to Paul’s visitation on MONDAY, February 3rd from 10 AM until 11 AM in Parish of the Resurrection Church, 449 Broad Street, Nashua. His Funeral Mass will follow in the church at 11 AM. Paul’s interment will be held privately at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
