Rita T. McKeown, 93
March 10, 1931- February 9, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Rita T. McKeown, who peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on March 10, 1931, Rita lived a full, vibrant life, touched countless lives, and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and joy.
Rita was the cherished wife of Richard L. McKeown and the devoted mother of Kim (Jaime Cardillo), Lee (Ralph Mirabello), and Michael, who lovingly cared for her in her later years. She was also the best Mimi to her beloved granddaughter Taylor Marie, and welcomed Taylor’s partner, Carrie Glenn, into her heart.
Rita was predeceased in death by her siblings Leo Pare, Doris Pare, Lillian Roy, and Florence Ouellette. She is survived by her brother Maurice Pare of Londonderry, New Hampshire.
A proud and hardworking woman, Rita had a successful career at Nashua Corporation before retiring. She had a presence that was both mighty and warm, and her radiant spirit will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As one dear friend so beautifully said, Rita’s “joie de vivre”– a feeling of great happiness and enjoyment of life; finding happiness in small, ordinary things- is something we will all remember and aspire to. She lived life to its fullest, filling every moment with love, laughter, and grace.
The family has requested a private burial to honor her memory.
Rita’s legacy of love and joy will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know her.
