Jack Erwin Greenleaf

Feb 14, 2025

Jack Erwin Greenleaf, 92, of Nashua NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025. He was born in Nashua, NH, on June 18, 1932, to parents Richard and Bernice (Miller) Greenleaf. He was the devoted husband of Betty Jane (Whittier) Greenleaf. They enjoyed 53 years together before Betty’s passing in October of 2006.

After attending Nashua High School, Jack enlisted in the Army and honorably served during the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart for courageously sustaining an injury in combat. After his service, he worked as a carpenter for Fort Devens until his retirement in 1987. He continued his work as a self-employed handy man. He loved his work and loved to help others with their projects when he could.

Jack enjoyed fixer-up projects at his camp on Newfound Lake. Camps around him became extended family, and you could often find him helping his neighbors with projects. He enjoyed the peace the lake brought as well as the memories it provided with family and friends.

Besides Jack’s loving wife Betty, he is predeceased by his daughter, Doreen Greenleaf-Denault, sisters Patricia Sprague, Norma Gagne, Beverly Gaudette, and Shirley Primus; and brothers Richard and William Greenleaf.

Jack is survived by his children Bruce Greenleaf of Nashua, NH, Gregory Greenleaf and his partner Joanne Routhier of Nashua, NH, Jeffrey Greenleaf and his wife Ann Marie Nicosia of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sherlyn Greenleaf-McIver and her husband William, of Warner, NH; brother Thomas Greenleaf of Georgia; sister Nancy Maloon of Milford, NH; as well as 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: A private service will be held in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303. The Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St, Nashua, NH, has been placed in charge of arrangements. An online guestbook is available at www.davisfuneralhomenh.com (603)883-3401 “ONE MEMORY LIGHTS ANOTHER.”
