Robert W. Carr Sr.

LEWISTON – Robert W. Carr Sr., 97, a resident of Lewiston, formerly of Milford, NH, passed away, Wednesday, January 29th at Montello Manor in Lewiston. He was born on January 11, 1928, in Galesville, Maryland, the son of Wilson and Virginia (Gaither) Carr. He was a graduate of Annapolis High School and received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Miami. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Mary Lou Weber of Annapolis, they enjoyed 52 years together before her passing in 2004. After Mary Lou’s death, Robert enjoyed 16 years with Rosemary Curtis, his companion and Mary Lou’s best friend. Robert worked as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse and Sanders Associates in Nashua, New Hampshire. He was an avid student of American history and he and Mary Lou enjoyed restoring several antique homes together. He is survived by his son, Robert W. Carr II and husband Stephen Rivais of Monmouth, his daughter Cyndi Carr and husband Jim Hendrix of Henniker, New Hampshire and grandson, Noah Carr of Washington, DC.
