Phillip Joseph Miller

Phillip Joseph Miller, proud husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Glioblastoma, surrounded by family and dear nursing staff at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH, where he had resided since June of 2021 in the Memory Care Unit. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Noel) Miller, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage this past October.
He was born on December 28, 1947, in New Haven, CT, the middle son of Charles Miller and Phyllis (Forcenelli) Miller.
Phillip graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1965, where he was the quarterback on the football team. Following graduation, he attended Southern Connecticut University for one year. He then enlisted and served with the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged after serving four years.
He met his wife Beverly, and they married in 1972. They settled in Hudson, NH, where they had two daughters, Nicole and Adrienne.
Phillip worked as an air traffic controller until the 1981 strike, where he then held down many jobs in order to support his young family. He went on to obtain his Bachelors Degree from Rivier College and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. He began working as a Project Manager/Engineer for Mitre Corporation, where he remained for the duration of his career.
Phillip was a sports lover who instilled this love in his daughters, coaching as many softball teams that they were on as possible. He also enjoyed playing softball competitively into his older years on a team (Docs) that he considered softball brothers, with him as the patriarch. He will be remembered for his quiet yet strong devotion to his family and friends, ensuring that traditions instilled will be carried on for years to come.
In addition to his parents, Phil was predeceased by his younger brother Clayton and sister-in-law Alice. Surviving in addition to his wife, Beverly (Noel) Miller, are his daughters Nicole (Miller) Penella of Ayer, MA, Adrienne (Miller) Munsey and her husband Matthew of Londonderry, NH, three grandsons, Samuel, Benjamin, and Jonathan, all of Londonderry, one brother Charles and his wife Beth of Guilford, CT, brother-in-law James and his wife Caroline, brother-in-law Peter, sister-in-law Desiree and her husband Gary, brother-in-law Stephen and his wife Emma, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 4 PM. Phil’s interment will take place in the spring, at the family’s convenience, in Boscawen at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Phillip’s behalf to the Glioblastoma Foundation at https://glioblastomafoundation.org/ with the hope that one less individual and one less family need to endure the heartbreak that is brain cancer.
