Phyllis Mavrikis

Phyllis Caprio Mavrikis, born Rafaela Maria Caprio, in Portland Maine, on April 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Alfred ( Alfredo) and Julia ( Giulia Giannino) Caprio of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, at All American Assisted Living in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

She is survived by her children, Donald James Mavrikis and his wife Karen of Nashua, New Hampshire and Brenda Ann LaSalle and her husband William of Londonderry, New Hampshire. Her grandchildren, Michael William LaSalle of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Kristina Fowler of Nashua, New Hampshire. Her sisters, Celia Rocco and her husband Dr. Angelo Rocco of Hillsboro Beach, Florida and Theresa Murchie and her husband Gerald Murchie of Deerfield Beach, Florida and several nieces and nephews.Phyllis was a graduate of Nashua Senior High School, leading the high school band as drum majorette. She went on to graduate from the New England School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts with a degree in Women’s Fashion and Design. She was crowned with the title of Mrs. New Hampshire in 1968. She owned and operated Phyllis’ Bridal and Fashions of Nashua, New Hampshire until her retirement in January 1985 at which time she moved to Hillsboro Beach, Florida with her husband James D. Mavrikis, who predeceased her in August 2019, sharing 64 years of marriage.

Phyllis will be remembered as a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Phyllis was a successful business owner with a very special talent for sewing. She chaired many fashion shows for charity, both in New Hampshire and in Florida. She was an active member of the Northeast Focal Point Women’s Auxiliary at The Center for Active Aging since 1997, in Deerfield Beach, Florida, volunteering her time and talents for many fundraising events over the years.

The family would like to express their deepest love and gratitude for the true love, devoted care and special attention given to Phyllis each and every day from the professional staff at All American Assisted Living of Londonderry, New Hampshire since June 2021.
