Alfred Dion

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfred Dion, who left us peacefully in the arms of his eldest daughter Kimberly on Monday March 10, 2025 at the age of 83. He passed away at the Granite VNA Hospice in Concord, NH. His family took the time while he was there to surround him with all of the love and memories he created with them.
Alfred Dion was born on August 27, 1941 in Grasmere (Goffstown) to Irene Rose Hill and grew up in Dunbarton, where he briefly lived with a beautiful hearted woman Mrs. Noice. She gave Alfred the gift and love of gardening and taught him to love living off the land. From 3rd grade on, Alfred began working in a shoe factory, working on his grandfather’s farm and went on to work at Souhegan Wood Products, where he retired at 78. He continued to go into work well after his retirement. His life was very hard for him growing up, but what he created from that was nothing less than remarkable.
He met his life partner, Joan Dion, in his teen years and they went on to create a family and live a life full of hardships and triumphs. He is survived by his four daughters; Kimberly Larocque her husband, Joshua Larocque; Tammy Johnson and her husband, Alan Johnson; Tina Dion; Kathy Brown her husband Matt Brown; one son, Alfred Dion Jr.; grandchildren; Rose, Tyler, Caitlyn & Destany, Rebecca, Samantha, Seth, Aaron, Zach and Mikayla.
Alfred was known for his kindness, love of animals, resilience, love for family memorabilia and his work ethic. He is and forever will be the strongest man his family has ever known. He touched the lives of many through his charm and character and will to survive, even in the worst situations he endured in his life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who have had the opportunity to know him.
