Margaret O. Center
Margaret O. Center, 98, of Wilton, NH, peacefully passed away on March 9, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on September 1, 1926, in New Ipswich, NH, to Syver and Charlotte (Bolton) Olausen, Margaret’s long and fulfilling life was characterized by her deep kindness, enduring wisdom, and profound love for her family and community. In 1947, she married her beloved husband, Winston L. Center, and together they created a beautiful life in Wilton, where they nurtured their two children: Susan Randazzo of Chelmsford, MA, and their son David (Marie), who predeceased her. A dedicated English teacher, Margaret inspired many students throughout her career, fueled by her passion for learning. She began her educational journey at Appleton Academy in New Ipswich and continued her studies at Keene State College. Beyond the classroom, she cherished her personal interests, which included reading, knitting, crocheting, and traveling. Those fortunate enough to engage in conversation with her during election seasons knew to prepare for lively political discussions, as she embraced such exchanges with enthusiasm. Margaret is survived by her cherished grandchildren: Lisa Bryer and Jason of Dracut, MA; Leslie Berry and Kevin Mullen of Quincy, MA; Christopher Center of VA; and Jennifer Frungillo and Anthony of NJ. Her legacy also includes her great-grandchildren: Christopher, Sophia, Gianna, Anthony, and Vivienne, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret’s enduring legacy of love, wisdom, and resilience will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her; she will be profoundly missed. A private graveside service will be held in the tranquil Laurel Hill Cemetery in Wilton, NH, in the spring. The arrangements are in the care of the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St., Wilton, NH.
