June A. (neé Haward) Porbunderwala, 68, of Merrimack, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 15, 2025 while surrounded by her family at home.
Born in Rosemère, Quebec, Canada on October 22nd, 1956, June grew up there, with her two older sisters, Lynda and Sandra. She received her Bachelor’s degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. In 1979, she married Anil Porbunderwala and moved to Merrimack, NH where they raised three sons: Steven, Kevin, and David.
June and Anil became members of Grace Baptist Church (now Bedford Road Baptist Church) in 1980 and are the longest continuously attending members. June served in many capacities at the church, including most recently as a member of the Ladies’ Ministry team and previously as Nursery Director. She taught children’s church and her love for the children of the congregation was acknowledged by everyone who knew her.
June was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her spirit of service will be remembered for the years of help she offered at Grace Christian School and as a committee member of Troop 401 in Merrimack. In recent years, her time was spent walking with her dog Meena; feeding and caring for the birds that shared her yard; preparing meals for family and friends; and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
In 2022, June was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After treatment, she went into remission for a time, but it returned in 2024. Throughout both bouts with cancer, she maintained her optimistic spirit and smile while remaining steadfast in her faith in God.
June is survived by her husband Anil, her sons and their families: Steven and his wife Cindy, along with their children Noah, Noelle, and Nolan; Kevin and his wife Danielle, along with their children Anna and James; and David. She is survived by her two sisters, Lynda Jennings and Sandra Villemure. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Amy (Ingles) Haward.
A memorial service will be held at Bedford Road Baptist Church, 67 Bedford Road, Merrimack NH on Saturday, April 5th at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in June’s memory can be made to Bedford Road Baptist Church.
