Peter W. Casey

Peter W. Casey, 78, of Hooksett, NH, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2025.

A resident of Hooksett for many years, he was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on September 25, 1946, a son of the late Gerald V. Sr. and Evelyn A. (Girouard) Casey. During his youth, Peter made his home in Lynn and Peabody, MA, Palm Beach, Florida and Hudson, NH. A graduate of Alvirne High School Class of 1964, Peter enlisted in the Navy on September 9, 1964 and served aboard the USS Aucilla. He held the rank of Seaman and was honorably discharged on September 8, 1966. He was involved in the Santo Domingo Crisis and awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

Peter began his career at Nashua Corporation as a research chemist for 17 years and continued at International Tape Company in Windham until his retirement in 2005.

In his leisure time, Peter was an avid pool player and won many trophies. In his younger years, he played baseball and soccer; and enjoyed the challenge of solving cross word puzzles and playing solitaire. Peter also loved traveling to the Maine seashore for vacations with his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Members of his family include his wife, Kathleen R. (McCauley) Casey, whom he married on December 3, 1977 and shared over 47 years together; his daughter, Pamela J. Casey; four grandchildren, Aimee Cancro and her husband Jordan, Melanie Carrier and her fiancée Christian Davis, Joshua Carrier and Spencer Ladd; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Zachary Cancro; his brother, Gerald V. Casey, Jr.; sister-in-law, Ginnie McCauley and her son Billy McCauley; nieces and nephews, Robert Allison and his wife Justine and their daughter Eleanor Allison; Gary Allison and his wife Andrea and their daughter, Sarah; Lori Bellerose and her husband Ray and their children, Raymond and Shanelle.

In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Richard Allison; and his nephew, Michael Allison.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Wednesday, April 16th at 9:30 a.m. Interment and Navy Funeral Honors will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson.
