Janice Marie Judge

Janice Marie Judge, loving mother, grandmother, devoted wife and longtime NH resident, passed away November 6, 2024 at the Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jaffrey, NH, surrounded by family. Born on October 14, 1939 in Peabody, MA, to the late Daniel M. and the late Mary E. (McCarthy) Calder, she attended St. John’s Parish School in Peabody, graduating from high school in 1957. She grew up in Peabody. Mrs. Judge was a model with Eileen Ford Models in Boston before getting married and also worked for Salem Five Cents Savings Bank in Salem, MA, the Seafood Hut in Nashua and Walmart in Amherst. In 1961, Mrs. Judge married Matthew F. Judge, son of the late Lt. Colonel Bernard (US Army, Ret) & the late Catherine (Romanowicz) Judge, of Peabody, MA. They had three children together: Matthew Francis, Jr. in February 1962; Mark Bernard in December 1963, who passed away April 1964, and Daniel Calder in August 1972. They lived in several parts of the region until settling in Amherst, NH in 1971, where they lived for more than 45 years. Mrs. Judge was a fantastic cook and baker and loved entertaining guests. She kept the home, raising her sons while Mr. Judge traveled for business. She was a member of Saint Stanislaus Parish in Nashua and an officer of the parish Ladies Guild for many years. She was an organizer for parish bingo nights and the highly popular annual Polish Picnic at Pulaski Park in Nashua. Mrs. Judge was predeceased by Mr. Judge who passed away on January 16, 2019. They were married for 57 years. Mrs. Judge is survived by son Matthew, Jr., of Amherst, NH, son Daniel & daughter-in-law Bethany (Popham) Judge & granddaughter Isabella Caruso, of Tyngsborough, MA, former daughter-in-law Jennifer (Powers) Judge & grandson Christopher Judge of Londonderry, NH, sister-in-law Janice (Judge) Fox of Waltham, MA, brother-in-law George Caley of Danvers, MA & several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Bernard Judge, sister Carole (Calder) Caley, brother-in-law Charles Fox, sister-in-law and brother-in-law William & Maureen (Judge) Reinstein, sister-in-law Joy (Judge) Clark, and granddaughter Angela Addington.

SERVICES: A joint wake for Mr. and Mrs. Judge will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH, followed by their burial at 12:30PM at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 61 Pine Hill Rd, Nashua, NH. It was their wish to be buried at the same time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude’s Hospital, Shriners Hospitals, or Toys for Tots.
