Brian LaFontaine

Brian LaFontaine, 67, of Merrimack, NH passed away peacefully at home on Sunday April 20, 2025 after a long battle with lung cancer. Brian was born on June 3, 1957 to parents William and Claire (Higham) LaFontaine in Warwick, RI. He is the 3rd child out of 4 boys. He spent his childhood living in RI, where he made lifelong friends (especially the Reservoir Rd crew) before moving to FL for a few years and later to NH where he has resided for 30+ years. Brian had little interest in school but later went on to own his own successful carpet cleaning and janitorial business for close to 30 years until retirement. He met his wife Rose through mutual friends and they were married not long after meeting, on March 30, 1990, celebrating 35 years this year. In 1993, they welcomed their one and only child- Ashley who later gave him his granddaughter, Brynlee in 2020. Brian was all about family; he was very close with his parents and 3 brothers growing up. He had a great relationship with all of his in-laws. His daughter and granddaughter were everything to him. When Brynlee was born, he became a full time papa and loved every second of it. Brian loved working in the yard, tinkering around on things in his garage, and woodworking. He was the jack of all trades and could build or fix anything. He loved camping. He and Rose had a seasonal campsite at Cold Springs Campground in Weare, NH for a few years where endless memories were made. He also loved the mountains, specifically North Conway, NH where he and his family made yearly trips to enjoy. Brian is survived by his wife Rose of Merrimack, NH, his daughter Ashley, son-in-law Ron and granddaughter Brynlee of Peterborough, NH, his mother Claire of East Greenwich, RI, his brother Bill and sister-in-law Diane of Merrimack, NH, his brother Steve and sister-in-law Brenda of Warwick, RI, his sisters-in-law Chris and Joann of Merrimack, NH, brother in law Tony of Manchester NH, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and last his beloved 9 year old Boston terrier, Lily. Brian was predeceased by his father, William (Bill) LaFontaine and his brother, Phil LaFontaine as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Per Brian’s wishes there will be no formal services but rather a celebration of life on Saturday May 31st at the American Legion 43 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
