Recycling needs to be updated

By Megan Pardoe - Nashua | Jun 30, 2019

In March of this year, the city approved the use $120,000 to keep the recycling program going. But this will only last until June 30 (today) of this year. The city needs to come up with an updated plan in order to ensure Nashua recycles.

This issue with recycling isn’t just city-wide, but a global problem. The main issue is that China, who usually accepts most of the world’s recyclable plastics has stopped taking as much as they use to. This is due to an over abundance of materials and issues finding use for the recycled products.

In order for Nashua to keep recycling at the forefront, the city must find a way to increase the budget to ensure the program lasts, and as a global community, we must work to reduce our waste.
