Several locals on high school All-Conference football teams
Several high school locals were recently named to the All-Conference football teams.
Bishop Guertin QB Mike MacDonough was the West Conference First Team QB, while Cardinal teammate Cody Szymansky was a wide receiver. Three local linemen were on the West First Team as well: Nashua North’s Melvin Fernandez, South’s Kevin Ndubuisi, and Merrimack’s Zach Rezaoui.
Five locals were on the West First Team Defense: Defensive backs Luke Peters (North), Garron Brown (Merrimack) and Ronan Balistreri (BG). Other locals on the unit are linemen Darius Smith (North) and Jack Thornton (Merrmack). Nashua South linebacker Sam Levine was also a First Teamer.
Alvirne had one player on the Central Conference team, senior offensive lineman Cam Porter.
Six locals were Honorable Mention on Defense: Merrimack’s Logan Day (DB) and Nathan Sadia (DL); North’s Jack Kralikowski (LB) and Jonathan Torres (DB); South’s Samson Akotey (DB), and BG’s Aaron Chmielecki (DL).
Local HM’s on offense were: Running backs Steven Rosario (North) and Kyle Emmons (South), Bishop Guertin’s Connor Lennon (TE) and A.J. Holmes (RB), and Merrimack’s Matt Schmitt (P/K).
