Opening Day brough mixed results for the locals on Thursday in boys and girls high school soccer. It was especially tough for the Nashua teams, as they went 0 for 5, but most will be back at it on Tuesday.

Here’s a look at the first of many roundup results as the fall season is officially underway:

BOYS SOCCER

EXETER 1, BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals lost a heart breaker as the Blue Hawks scored the game winner with 90 seconds left in the match. Bad Boughter made six saves with Liam Ireland and Andrew Klyop playing well in the loss. BG visits Concord on Tuesday.

MERRIMACK 2, SALEM 1

The Tomahawks start the season with a road win against the Blue Devils. Kaiden Martin and Dave Sharma tallied one goal each. Hunter Joseph had an assist and Armin Omeragic was in goal. Merrimack hosts Keene on Tuesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2, LEBANON 0

Andrew Desmarais scored both goals, helping the Cavs to a win on opening day. Ian Sinclair, Leo Zweiner, John Paul Torgersen, Brendan Thibault and Alex Gertz led the defense. HB visits Campbell on Tuesday.

BEDFORD 3, NASHUA SOUTH 1

The Panthers were hoping to get some revenge for last year’s quarterfinal loss at the hands of the Bulldogs, but fell short. The defending champion Bulldogs have now won their last four games at Stellos Stadium — three tourney games last year and yesterday’s opener.

South hosts Winnacunnet on Tuesday.

GIRLS SOCCER

EXETER 2, BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals possessed the ball most of the game, but it was the Blue Hawks who found the back of the net. Jess LaCroix made 12 saves and Ava Suech registered four shots for BG. BG hosts Concord on Tuesday.

HANOVER 2, NASHUA NORTH 1

The Titans lose their opening game on the road to Hanover in a hard-fought effort. Alli Frye scored the lone goal for the locals.

Nora Ross and Rachel Gauthier shared goaltending duties. North visits Windham on September 6.

BEDFORD 4, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers and new coach Curt Dutilley had a tough debut on the road against the title contender Bulldogs. South will be back at it at Winnacunnet on Tuesday.

CAMPBELL 7, BISHOP BRADY 0

Abby Guerrette (three goals) and Amelia Laplante (two goals) led the Cougars to a shutout win to start the season. Melina Girgis and Alyssa Riel each added a goal with Zoe Bourque and Hannah Pimentel securing two and one save respectively. Campbell hosts Monadnock on Tuesday.

DOVER 4, ALVIRNE 1

The Broncos lose their home opener on Thursday afternoon. Haylie Christman scored one goal. Alvirne visits Timberlane on Tuesday.
