There’s no doubt that two of the best, if not the best girls soccer teams in the local area are the Bishop Guertin Cardinals (seven straight, 7-1) and Hollis Brookline Cavaliers (8-0).
They were winning again in the rain on Thursday:
GIRLS SOCCER
BISHOP GUERTIN 2, WINDHAM 0
The Cardinals’ roll continues, as not only are they on a winning streak, they have not allowed a goal since losing to Exeter in their season opener.
Keeper Jess Lacroix earned the shutout while Zoe Horton-Sousa netted two goals, both assisted by Kareena Sondhi. Emerson Brown played well in the midfield.
Guertin faces Merrimack on Saturday at 10 a.m.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 4, SOUHEGAN 0
The Cavs improved to 8-0 as they spread the wealth offensively. Rosalie Desantis had the only goal the Cavs would need, heading home Marleigh Kreick’s corner kick. McKenna Maguire had a goal and two assists while Lily Bouchard had a goal and an assist and Kai Swart a goal.
Mya Blackman had two saves to earn the shutout.
HB is at Oyster River on Tuesday, while the Sabers, now 2-4-3, host John Stark.
BOYS SOCCER
BISHOP GUERTIN 1, WINDHAM 1
Ryan Neary scored for the Cards, assisted by Andrew Klyop’s seventh of the season.
After their third tie of the season, the Cards are 3-2-3 and will host Pinkerton at Stellos Stadium on Tuesday.
CO-ED UNIFIED SOCCER
EXETER 5, NASHUA NORTH 3 (Wednesday)
The Titans fell to the defending champs in their opener, despite Yehoshua Salazar and Ashlynn Millard each scoring their first career goals.
North is at Dover on Tuesday.
