HS Roundup: Bronocs win in OT; big wins for Cavs, Admirals
The area high school hockey and basketball train kept rolling on Tuesday night, with a few big wins for the locals, including the Alvirne girls hoop team in OT, the Alvirne-Milford Admirals hockey team in its season opener, and the Hollis Brookline boys hoop team getting its first win. The Souhegan boys also got a one-point triumph.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
ALVIRNE 59, GOFFSTOWN 52 (OT)
Ella Hartson had five of her 13 points in the extra session as the Broncos improved to 2-0 on the year. Courtney Anderson, though, led the winners with 18 points while Julia Adams had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Broncos have tonight off before hosting Keene on Thursday.
PELHAM 58, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 53 (OT)
The Cavaliers nearly pulled out a win on the road, but a shot that fell was just after the buzzer in regulation.
Ava O’Donnell led HB with 3 points; the Cavs were down at one point 41-34 before going on a 10-point run to take the lead. Anika Carlson led the Cavs with 10 rebounds. HB hosts Pembroke on Thurday.
BOW 48, SOUHEGAN 26
The Saber jumped out to a 14-2 lead to start the game but couldn’t sustain it . They still led 22-21 before a scoring drought dropped them to 0-2 on the year. Zofia Rosenfield led the Sabers with 13 points and eight rebounds while Tess Jancar added eight points.
Souhegan is at Lebanon on Friday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 73, PELHAM 57
The Cavaliers (1-1) got their first win of the year over the two-time defending Division II champions in their home opener. They jumped out to a 29-13 lead and held off the Pythons (1-1) the rest of the way, with James Arthur leading the way with 20 points. Alton Williams added 14 for HB, which is at Pembroke on Thursday.
SOUHEGAN 43, BOW 42
The Sabers (2-0) survived a defensive struggle, holding Bow to six points in the fourth quarter. Drew Reagan led the way with 18 poInts while West Hickman had 17. Souhegan hosts Lebanon on Friday.
CAMPBELL 68, DERRYFIELD 46
The Cougars got their offense in gear, led by Cayden Deleon’s 25 points and seven assists, plus Jack Breton’s 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Luke Delia added nine points and four steals for 2-0 Campbell, which is at Hopkinton on Friday.
BOYS HOCKEY
ALVIRNE-MILFORD 6, LEBANON-STEVENS-MASCOMA 2
The Admirals enjoyed smooth waters, snapping a 2-2 tie with two goals in the second and two in the third in their season opener at Skate 3.
Braydon Atwood led the scoring with a pair of goals, with single tallies by Landon Briand (plus an assist), Brandon Ganas, Evan Pargas (first varsity goal), and Mason Tomkins.
Besides Briand, others with assists were Bryce Larco Dylan MacLeod, Brandon Callahan, Ryan Ricard and Chris Bozza.
Admirals Mason Komarek had 26 stops in his first varsity start. A-M hosts St. Thomas on Saturday.
