Merrimack wrestlers take tourney titles
Athletes from the Merrimack Youth Wrestling program recently competed in the annual Chelmsford (Mass.) Youth Tournament and captured seven titles, one runner-up and four third place finishes.
Twenty wrestlers that competed with individual results below:
First graders Clayton Bailey and Brodie Lerra took home third and fourth place, respectively with Bailey capturing one win by pin.
Duke Torres, Carter Lerra, Daxton Solivan and Kaleb Watt represented the third grade cohort. Torres had two wins by pin on the day taking home second place medal.
Fourth graders Bennett Meehan, Leiland Miller and Matthew Snavely represented well with Meehan pinning his way to first and Miller completing two wins by pin for a third place finish.
Colton Miller and Madeline Sousa, grade 5 finished strong with Miller taking home first place on the podium with one win by pin.
Merrimack’s roster was dominated by sixth graders represented by Hunter Beitel, Caleb Grandmaison, Sara Snavely, Cash Torres all taking home the champion title and Jakoby Martin taking home fourth place.
All the Merrimack title winners with the exception of one match pinned their way onto the top of the podium.
Seventh grader Leland Eaton took home fourth place medal on the day.
Landon Leblanc, grade 8 pinned his way to first place finish while other eighth graders Tyler Hayes and Aiden Kennedy both finished in fourth place.
